About the author, W. A. Newman Dorland
Dorland’s Illustrated Medical Dictionary was been authored by W. A. Newman Dorland. He was born in Hilton Head, NC, in 1864. He was the beloved son of Dr. William Matthews Dorland and Sarah A. Thorne. Dr. Dorland received his M.D in the year 1886 from the Medical School at the University of Pennsylvania. He also worked there as an Instructor of Obstetrics.
Dr. William Alexander Newman Dorland, MD died in 1956. 🙁
